Whales and Fjords in Francisco Coloane Marine Park
Francisco Coloane Marine Park in southern Chile's Strait of Magellan is the country's first marine sanctuary, covering over 67,000 hectares. The park is known for seasonal humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) sightings each austral summer.
The park provides unmatched opportunities to observe whales up close, including their breaches, tail slaps, and blows. The park also hosts sea lions, penguins, and southern dolphins amid fjords, glaciers, and mountains, offering a striking Patagonian marine experience.
